Clear
Far away
and now closer,
the sound of my foot
stepping into a clear stream.
My eyes on the horizon
of wild things,
The taste in my mouth,
Freedom.
Unbuckling the harness from my heart,
I gallop
and sing
songs before unheard,
keeping rhythm with the cold, clear water,
and the night sky
full of stars.
